Le Parisienne - who is she?
When we say “La Parisienne,” we often picture the born-and-bred Parisiennes - the women whose families have stayed in this city for generations. These are the hometown muses who know the value of quality and treat taste as second nature, in their character and wardrobe, much like the architecture they walk past daily.
But like the façades of Paris itself, this identity doesn’t need rebuilding - maybe just a little updating. Because if we’re being honest: some of the most iconic “Parisiennes” weren’t technically from Paris at all, let’s not forget, Jane Birkin was after all British but made Paris her home and in doing so contributed so much to the identity of Parisian chic as we know it today.
So, who is La Parisienne? Born here? Moved here? Visited once and never emotionally left? We’ll leave it up to you.
